HEALING TIMES

Piercing Placements & Healing Times

6-12 Months
9-12 Months

The Lobe

Located on the soft, fleshy base of the ear, the lobe is the foundation of any ear curation. Its adaptable nature makes it the perfect, versatile canvas for experimenting with everything from classic studs to dramatic, cascading arrangements.
Healing Time: 2 - 4 Months

The Upper Lobe

Situated just above the traditional first piercing, the upper lobe gently bridges the soft foundation of the ear with the firmer cartilage above. This elegant placement is essential for building a beautifully staggered ear project, offering a seamless transition for cascading studs or delicate, graduating hoops.
Healing Time: 4-6 Months

The Tragus

Situated on the delicate flap of cartilage guarding the ear canal, the tragus offers an intriguing and unexpected focal point. This placement is beautifully suited for showcasing smaller, refined rings and dainty studs.
Healing Time: 6 - 12 Months

The Daith

Nestled deep within the innermost fold of the ear, elegantly suspended between the tragus and the rook, lies the daith. This bold yet intimate placement serves as a striking centerpiece, perfectly designed to showcase an ornate hoop or a brilliant, statement-making ring.
Healing Time: 9 - 12 Months

The Helix

Tracing the sweeping outer cartilage ridge of the upper ear, bridging the space between the forward helix and the lobe, the helix remains a universally beloved classic. Its expansive canvas allows for endless creativity, making it a highly striking location to display a dynamic range of sophisticated jewelry.
Healing Time: 6 - 12 Months

The Forward Helix

Picking up exactly where the traditional helix ends, the forward helix rests on the upper curve connecting the ear to the head. This spot is highly sought-after for stacking; a row of several petite studs here creates a beautifully captivating aesthetic.
Healing Time: 6 - 12 Months

The Contraconch

The contraconch finds its home on the prominent ridge of cartilage elegantly arching between the conch and the helix. This uniquely modern placement is the ideal stage for spotlighting small, brilliant studs.
Healing Time: 6 - 12 Months

AFTERCARE

How to Care for Your New Piercing

The Art of Healing: Complete Piercing Aftercare

Proper care is essential for a beautiful result, as healing can take several months. Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing to prevent transferring bacteria. Twice daily—morning and evening—apply a gentle compress for five minutes using a presoaked saline wipe or sterile saline spray on non-woven gauze. Because excess moisture can lead to bacteria, dry the area completely with sterile gauze or a hairdryer on its cold setting.

To ensure a smooth recovery, never remove or rotate your jewelry, as the piercing will begin to close immediately. Avoid using harsh chemicals like alcohol, Bactine, or Neosporin, and refrain from picking at any dried matter attached to the healing tissue. Keep perfumes, makeup, and body creams away from the site, and take care to rinse away soaps and shampoos thoroughly while showering.

Protect your fresh piercing from everyday aggravation by exercising caution when styling your hair, dressing, or engaging in strenuous workouts. We also suggest avoiding swimming in lakes or chlorinated pools while healing. Finally, refrain from sleeping directly on your new piercing; resting your ear in the center opening of a travel pillow is an excellent way to sleep comfortably and safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because everyone's anatomy is completely unique, the best way to find your perfect fit is by booking a session with our styling experts. We'll help you find the exact size you need so your new jewelry feels comfortable and looks incredible.

Pain is entirely subjective, but the actual piercing takes less than half a second! While everyone's tolerance is different, many of our clients say it feels like a tiny pinch—often less painful than getting a shot, waxing, or stubbing your toe. We prioritize your comfort and work hard to make the process as quick, smooth, and stress-free as possible.

You will need to clean your piercing regularly until it is completely healed. Depending on your body and where you were pierced, the healing process can take several months. Use a gentle compress and apply a pre-soaked saline wipe, or spray sterile saline onto a piece of non-woven sterile gauze. Hold it gently against your piercing for five minutes.

Because everyone’s body is different, healing times vary widely depending on the person and the exact placement of the piercing. Your piercer will give you a personalized timeline during your appointment so you know exactly when it is safe to swap out your jewelry.

There is no exact rule for this, so we always recommend playing it safe! As a general guideline, standard earlobe piercings might stay open without jewelry after a year or more of continuous wear. Cartilage piercings, however, are much more stubborn and take significantly longer to settle.
